GHR Rechtsanwälte advised on the transformation of Koa Switzerland GmbH into Koa Switzerland Ltd.

In June 2020, Koa Switzerland GmbH (a limited liability company) was transformed into Koa Switzerland Ltd. (a company limited by shares).

Koa stands for the sustainable and fair production of natural cocoa fruit juice. The company buys the cocoa fruit pulp from local small-scale farmers in Ghana and processes it on-site. In doing so, Koa provides for an innovative and sustainable product at European quality levels but with a relevant part of the value chain located in Ghana.

With the company's transformation into a share corporation, Koa has streamlined its structure and provides better access for investors. GHR Rechtsanwälte acted as counsel to Koa in this transaction. The GHR team was lead by Stephan A. Hofer and included Nina Häberli.
